I took these pictures two weeks ago when the weather was finally starting to perk up. Ran into a seasoned hiker who told me to enjoy the greenery because the hills would soon dry up from too much sunshine. I didn’t think much of it and upon returning this weekend, was surprised to find unsightly straw in place of once luxuriant vegetation. In just a couple short weeks! Timing is everything, so it seems. It’s too bad these hills couldn’t stay lush and gorgeous all spring but I’m glad we caught it while it lasted.
Damn I thought it was super cute how Chubby was sniffing the flower but then HE TRIED TO EAT IT. That gluttonous ham.
I’ll have to try it sometime!
And yay - another SF corgi!!! He’s super cute too! Follow at sullyloves
My friend texted me this pic. Chubby says he doesn’t want to be a noodle bc then I will eat him. Yummmmm Chubby noodles
Thanks so much for everyone’s concerns, comments and advice! Chubby and I are super grateful. His nails were still very red today, but the bleeding finally stopped. It seems like a lot of other corgi owners have experienced similar issues, so I’m relieved that it’s nothing serious.
Judging me for turning him into a fashion victim
Mr. Chubby and the Rainbow Socks
Came home from a walk today and was shocked to find blood all over Chubby’s little white feet. Upon examination I found that two nails from his front paws had somehow worn to the quick and were bleeding profusely. The strange thing was that the bleeding nails were symmetrical (2nd from left paw, 3rd from right) and broken the exact same way and at the exact same length.
I decided to just clean them off but in the process found bloody specks all over his stomach. I lifted him up and it looked like he had little bloody cuts all over his body. Terrified and near tears, I took him to the bathtub and washed him again. After drying I realized that it was all just dried blood that had migrated to his undercarriage. Thank God. Thank god thank god.
Anyway this is why Chubby has to wear rainbow socks. He is super depressed because of it and walks like he’s crippled, but hopefully his little nails will heal faster with some bandaging. I feel a little embarrassed for freaking out so much over a bit of blood, but I’m sure all dog owners do it, right? I’ve been so busy lately that Chubby has been sort of an afterthought, so I feel incredibly guilty about what happened (even though it might have just been a freak accident). Dogs can’t speak for themselves—it’s our responsibility to be meticulous in safeguarding their well-being. Hopefully this doesn’t end up being anything serious.
albertthedogo asked: Chubby seems pretty comfy in that tree. Does he like to climb or be up high?
Hahahah no he is a giant chicken. I am a bad mummy and put him in the tree purely for the photo op
