I felt incredibly giddy about getting the top picture because Chubby is very stingy with his sploots—he only likes to sploot in private, when no one is looking. He’s also very sensitive about cameras, so most of my previous attempts to capture him splooting resulted in photos like the bottom (he heard the shutter go off and quickly crawled under the bed). Ran into a seasoned hiker who told me to enjoy the greenery because the hills would soon dry up from too much sunshine. I didn’t think much of it and upon returning this weekend, was surprised to find unsightly straw in place of once luxuriant vegetation. In just a couple short weeks! Timing is everything, so it seems.
